Undergraduate (Bachelor's) Entry Requirements

• Academic Requirements: To join the first year of an undergraduate degree, you typically need qualifications equivalent to UK A-levels (often ranging from 112 to 128 UCAS tariff points) or the International Baccalaureate (IB) Diploma. NTU accepts a wide range of international high school diplomas.
• Foundation Pathway: If your secondary school qualifications do not meet the standards for direct entry, you can apply for a Foundation course at the Nottingham Trent International College (NTIC). These programs provide a guaranteed route to your chosen degree upon successful completion.
• Advanced Entry: Applicants with an Associate Degree, a Higher National Diploma (HND), or significant prior university study in a relevant subject may be considered for entry into the second or final year of a Bachelor's program.

Postgraduate (Master's) Entry Requirements

• Academic Requirements: You generally need a recognized Bachelor's degree equivalent to a UK Honours degree. For most courses, a minimum of a UK 2:2 (or equivalent) is required, though some competitive programs may ask for a UK 2:1. For example, a GPA of 2.8/4.0 is often sufficient for 2:2 entry, while 3.2/4.0 is needed for 2:1 entry.
• Professional Experience: Relevant professional experience is highly valued and can be considered alongside or sometimes in lieu of traditional academic qualifications, particularly for mature students or those applying for the MBA or professional management courses.
• Progression: If you do not meet the direct entry criteria for a Master's, Pre-Master's courses are available at NTIC to help you develop the necessary academic and research skills for postgraduate study.

English Language Requirements

If English is not your first language, you must demonstrate your proficiency through a recognized Secure English Language Test (SELT).

• Standard Requirement: Most undergraduate and postgraduate courses typically require an IELTS Academic score of 6.0 or 6.5 overall, with a minimum of 5.5 in each component.
• Higher Level Courses: Certain programs, particularly in Journalism, Law, and Social Work, may require a higher score, such as IELTS 7.0 overall.
• Accepted Tests: NTU accepts a wide range of tests, including Pearson PTE Academic, TOEFL iBT, LanguageCert, and the Oxford ELLT. In many cases, high school English qualifications from specific countries  may be accepted to waive the IELTS requirement.
• Pre-sessional English (PEAP): If you fall slightly short of the required English level, NTU offers Pre-sessional English for Academic Purposes (PEAP) courses ranging from 6 to 15 weeks to help you meet your offer conditions.

Additional Considerations

• Course-Specific Evidence: Creative courses in Art and Design often require a portfolio, while programs in Journalism or Social Work may require an interview.
• Documentation: Your application should include academic transcripts, a personal statement highlighting your motivations, a reference letter, and a copy of your passport.
• Advanced Payment: To secure your place and receive a CAS for your student visa, international students are usually required to pay an advance payment (deposit) of approximately £4,000 to £9,000.
