For the 2026/2027 academic year, the scholarship is available for both Undergraduate and Postgraduate Taught levels. It is generally awarded as a fee deduction in the first year of study, though some versions (like the International Undergraduate Scholarship) provide ongoing support in subsequent years.
Scholarship Value / Benefits
- Undergraduate: Up to $6,650 (£5,000) for the lower tier or $9,310 (£7,000) for the higher tier (distributed over 3–4 years).
- Postgraduate: Up to $5,320 (£4,000) as a one-off fee reduction.
- Full Payment Discount: This scholarship can typically be combined with the Full Payment Discount ($1,330 / £1,000) if you pay your fees in full by the early deadline.
- Automatic Consideration: Most students are automatically assessed upon application, reducing the need for separate scholarship forms.
Eligibility Criteria
- To be eligible for the ARU International Merit Scholarship, you must:
- Be classified as an international student (paying international tuition fees).
- Be starting a full-time undergraduate or postgraduate taught degree at a core ARU campus (Cambridge, Chelmsford, or Peterborough).
- Academic Merit: Typically requires grades equivalent to ABB at A-level or above.
- Postgraduates: Usually require a 2:1 Upper Second Class honours degree or equivalent.
- Exclusions: Degree apprenticeships, foundation degrees, distance learning, and students joining a Master's with credit are generally excluded.
