Education Counsellor – Germany

NWC Education is hiring an Education Counsellor to help students navigate Germany's unique admissions ecosystem — from APS certification and uni-assist applications to the blocked account (Sperrkonto) requirement and German student visa process. Germany offers largely tuition-free education at internationally ranked public universities, making it one of the most rewarding destinations to counsel for. Location is open — remote or on-site from anywhere.

Requirements

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in any discipline
• 1–3 years of experience in education counselling; Germany-specific experience strongly preferred
• Thorough knowledge of German university landscape and admissions procedures
• Understanding of APS certification requirements by country of origin
• Familiarity with the German National Visa (Type D) for study purposes
• Knowledge of basic German language is a significant advantage
• Detail-oriented with strong documentation and organisational skills
• Ability to explain complex multi-step processes clearly to students and families

Responsibilities

• Counsel students on German public universities, Fachhochschule, and private institutions
• Guide students through APS certification requirements specific to their country
• Assist with uni-assist portal applications and direct university applications
• Advise on the blocked account (Sperrkonto) process and financial proof requirements
• Support German student visa documentation preparation
• Advise on German language preparation — Goethe, TestDaF, and DSH
• Coordinate with German university representatives and DAAD contacts
• Educate students on Winter (October) and Summer (April) intake cycles
• Prepare students for embassy or consulate interview processes
• Maintain thorough student records and documentation compliance
