Alumni Scholarship

The award is a 20% tuition fee discount applied to the cost of a postgraduate course. It is available to both UK and International alumni and is automatically applied to eligible students. The scholarship covers a wide range of study modes, including full-time, part-time, and distance learning options at both the Newcastle and London campuses.

Tuition Discount: A reduction of 20% on the total course fee.

Estimated Financial Value: For a typical international master's course costing $26,000, the scholarship would save you approximately $5,200.

Flexible Coverage: The discount is applied pro rata if the course duration exceeds one year.

Combine with Loans: Students are still eligible to apply for government postgraduate loans or other private finance options alongside this discount.

Eligibility Criteria

To qualify for the 2026/27 academic year, you must:

Previous Qualification: Have successfully completed a full undergraduate degree, a Master's, or a Postgraduate Research qualification from Northumbria University or Newcastle Polytechnic.

Self-Funded Status: Be a self-funded student (not receiving full sponsorship from an employer or government body).

Study Status: Be applying for a Full Master's (MA, MSc, LLM) or a Postgraduate Research degree (PhD, MPhil).

Exclusions: Students receiving other Northumbria scholarships (such as the Vice-Chancellor's Scholarship) are typically not eligible to "stack" these awards.
